Professional liability insurance:

Pursuant to the Federal Lawyers’ Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung (BRAO)) lawyers are obligated to maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum insured sum of EUR 2,500,000. Details are provided in §§ 51, 51a BRAO. The lawyers at LANGWIESER RECHTSANWAELTE Partnerschaft mbB have taken out professional liability insurance with Allianz Versicherungs-AG, 10900 Berlin. The territory for which insurance cover exists encompasses business within Europe.

Online dispute resulution platform and consumer disputes resolution:

The platform of the European Commission for online dispute resolution can be reviewed under http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.

In case of disputes between lawyers and their clients, as long as they are consumers, a mediation request may be filed with the mediation board for attorneys of the Federal Bar Association, Neue Gruenstr. 17 in 10179 Berlin (see sec. 191f of the Federal Attorneys’ Act (BRAO)). Further information is available on the website of the mediation board (www.schlichtungsstelle-der-rechtsanwaltschaft.de)or may be requested by e-mail from schlichtungsstelle@s-d-r.org. However, the lawyers of Langwieser Rechtsanwaelte Partnerschaft mbB  do not take part in dispute resolution before consumer dispute resolution bodies.
